The
World's Only Dry Foam
PolyMaster
Foam is the smartest alternative to the traditional urea-formaldehyde
foams which are known for their odors and shrinkage. PolyMaster
Foam is made from aminoplast, tri-polymer, kiln-dried resin. In
this respect, it is unique in the marketplace. It is important to
note that PolyMaster Foam has 20% less moisture than all other competitors.
This means less shrinkage, higher R-value of the product, and less
chance of "wet wall." There are several advantages to
PolyMaster Foam dealers using dry product:
-
The foam
is mixed fresh, locally before each job. A potentially old and
deteriorating product is not being installed which may be the
case with pre-mixed products.
-
One-year
shelf life
-
Lower
transportation cost
-
No need
to keep the resin at a constant temperature to maintain quality
-
Recyclable
packaging
Thermal
Insulation
PolyMaster is
the market's superior thermal insulation. Because its chemistry
is unique, it yields unique R-values. (Refer to graphs below for
accurate, competitive R-values.)

Characteristics
PolyMaster
Plastic Foam Insulation is designed for thermal and acoustical reduction.
The product is highly cost effective as an insulating material.
It is designed to be used in new or retrofit commercial, residential
and industrial applications. Plastic foam is ideal for cavity, block
or frame wall applications.
Product Description
Modern
chemistry has given us this non-formalin (Formaldehyde), non-toxic,
odor-free insulation. The three-component system consists of an
aqueous plastic three polymer resin which, properly combined with
the foaming agent and nitrogen or compressed air, forms PolyMaster
Plastic Foam. The hardening of the liquids is similar to the reaction
of epoxy solidifying.
The application
and manufacturing of this foam does not require or utilize formaldehyde
as defined by agencies of the U.S. Government. PolyMaster foam can
be applied year-round because ambient temperatures do not affect
the cold setting (hardening) process. The hardening time for PolyMaster
Insulation may be adjusted from 10 to 30 seconds for various applications.
Due to superior insulation qualities, final drying will require
approximately 48 hours or more.
PolyMaster Plastic
Foam is fully expanded as it leaves the mixing equipment. No future
expansion will occur. The light weight foam is self supporting up
to 20 vertical feet.
Installation
PolyMaster
insulation can be injected into a cavity through a hole as small
as 5/8" (inches). Block walls may be pressure filled with the
product. Plastic foam may be applied in drywall, frame, brick, block,
steel, sheet metal or fiberglass construction cavities. Due to the
product's inert properties, there is no danger of corrosion, decomposition
or degeneration of the proximal materials. PolyMaster insulation
is shipped in dry powder form and has a one year shelf life.
The application
of PolyMaster insulation requires special training and expertise
and should only be done by applicators trained by PolyMaster, Inc.
or its agents as evidenced by a Certificate of Completion showing
the applicator has successfully completed PolyMaster's technical
training requirements.
Limitation
PolyMaster
insulation should not be used in cavities which will not permit
initial water vapor transmission (during initial 24-hour cure period).
Application of PolyMaster insulation greatly reduces the fresh air
infiltration into a structure and thus may permit a buildup of air
contaminants within the building after application. Inadequate air
change has been linked to a variety of health problems.
The finished
product is an inert, non-corrosive material. See specifications
for details and characteristics for PolyMaster R-501 Plastic Foam
Insulation. |
